Deduct- to take away, as from a sum or amount.
When you burn money of whatsoever, you take away from the total amount. Deduct doesn't have to relate with money. It could be a deduction from a collection or nature (like how the wildfires took away many houses and some lives). Burning money deducts from your total savings.

Accord- to be in agreement or harmony; agree.
During the California Wildfires 2007, evacuation centers were in agreement of what evacuees need for the time being. Like the Qualcomm Stadium, volunteers and other San Diegans helped evacuees to get what they need by donating. Everyone worked together in harmony to create a calm a peaceful evacuation center for these evacuees. Volunteers accord while helping evacuees at evacutation centers.
