For this assignment, we had to choose a picture from one of Bill Sullivan's Turnstile Photographs and create a creative writing on what that certain person is doing or what is going on with their life. These are pictures of strangers going through the turnstile from a subway in New York. Here is my story about this specific character.

After a long day from school, this woman, who goes by the name Lauren, gets ready to go home. As she stepped out of the subway, Lauren felt as if something was to go terribly wrong. All of a sudden she hears a voice screaming from afar. She walks toward the exit and the screaming keeps on getting louder and louder. Suddenly she felt cold air caressing her face, but there was no wind coming from the city. Lauren tried to ignore the screaming and got into a cab. While on the way home, she was busy reading her philosophy novel, studying for an upcoming exam. The screaming stopped for about an hour and Lauren started to relax. It was traffic on Time Square, so Lauren decided to take a nap. She closed her philosophy novel and placed her reading glasses on her head. As she was falling asleep, the screaming returned again. This time the scream was getting louder and louder that it made Lauren deaf. She opened her eyes right away and looked around the cab and all she saw were cars surrounding the cab. Lauren took a deep breath and looked down to where she placed her philosophy novel. She decided to read a bit to make the screaming stop. As she opened the book to the page she last read, the words began to scramble around and before she knew it, that page of the book was a whole different story. It was about the dead coming back to life in search of finding somebody to bring with them to the other life. All of a sudden, Lauren heard the screaming coming out from her left ear. As she turned around, the screaming stopped and Lauren sat there quietly. As she looked out the window, she saw a woman coming towards her. "You must follow me," the woman whispered into the air. Out if nowhere, Lauren saw the past of the woman. She saw how the woman's child was taken away from her and how the woman died. That's when Lauren realized that this woman is trying to bring her with her to the other life, in place of her child that was stolen. As she observed the strange woman's past, Lauren took a deep breath. When Lauren's cab arrived at her house, the cab driver turned around and found Lauren sitting stiffly looking out the window.

This was a very mysterious and creative story. It seemed interesting and it made me visualize what was going on however I kind of needed some clarification as to what exactly was happening. Other than that, I liked the concept of your story.
